In 1994 the establishment scoffed at the idea of an unselected show in a cattle market 300 miles north of the "cultural capital" of the UK. The intention was to make a level playing field by allowing access to the market for anyone trying to make a living from the sale of their work. The book shows the level of work on show at this unselected event.
