Each year the Potfest potters are invited to make a special piece to a particular theme, which are all displayed on the lawns in front of the House - this year's was "BIBLICAL"
Geoff & Chris Cox award the Potfest prize of a free stand at Potfest in the Park 2016 to a potter whose competition piece and work most impress them.

This year's award went to Sue Dunne from Hexham, Northumberland.

Sue's competition piece was:
"In the Beginning"

Detail: "the Garden of Eden"

Sue consistently goes the extra mile with her competition pieces - always relevant to the theme, recognisably her own style, but always a new work for the competition.

When the show closes on Friday night all the potters meet up for a glass of wine on the lawns, and pick their favourite competition piece.
This year the Potter's Favourite (the PEERS PRIZE)was won by Russell Coates for his piece
"NUMBERS of Nobodies, EXODUS of Sanity"

This was a very political piece. The Ship of Fools was peopled by Nigel Farage, Natalie Bennett, Ed Milliband, Nicolantic Sturgeon, Captain Cameron, Alexander Salmon, Nick Clegg et al.

This year we had no clear winner for the Public's favourite " Biblical" piece as the three days of the show gave us three different winners.

Friday's Public vote went to " Burning Bush"
by Fiona Duckett

Saturday's Public vote went to "Darwin's Ark" by Richard Heeley

The Public votes on Sunday went to Julian Jardine's "The Last Supper"

Many thanks to all the public who took the time and effort to vote for their favourites in the competition. The 3 prize draw slips pulled out were those of Peter Gaunt from Lymm, Mrs D.J.Stubbing from Cleveleys, and Stefanie Dickinson from Halifax - who each win a Potfest Passport - giving free entry for themselves and a friend to all future Potfests.
