Each year the Potfest potters are invited to make a special piece to a particular theme, which are all displayed in the foyer at the show - this year's was "Planted Forms"

Paul & Angie Boyer, editors of "Craft & Design" magazine, award the Potfest prize of the front cover and a feature article in their July clay edition of the magazine. This year's award goes to:

Nichola with Angie of Craft & Design magazine, receiving her award ( champagne and a major article and the front cover of Craft & Design magazine's July ceramic edition 2016)

Nichola Hanman - "The Veg. Patch"

When the show closes on Friday night all the potters
meet up for a glass of wine in the foyer and pick their favourite competition piece.
This year's Potters' Favourite PEERS PRIZE went to Lynne Hutchinson for her "Urban Planted Form"

The public votes gave us 4 different winners on each day of the show
Friday's Public Choice was " The Green Man" by Stephen Green.

On Saturday the public's favourite was

Gerry Grant's "from little oaks, mighty acorns do grow"

Dorit Deutsch's "Yew handle with care"
was the Joint Favourite on Sunday along with

Rob Sutherland's "Woodland"

A new addition to the foyer this year was an exhibition of dipping bowls, in a competition to be included in hampers specially commissioned by "Charlie & Ivy's" bread dippers. David Melville won first prize with his small handled bowls but congratulations to all participants on a super display.

Many thanks to all the public who took the time and effort to vote for their favourites in the competition. The 3 prize draw slips pulled out were those of Janet Greensmith of Nether Kellett, Alison Crossley from Haltwhistle and Alison Punshon from Grange-over-Sands who each win a Potfest Passport - giving free entry for themselves and a friend to all future Potfests.
